We have spent lots of time and energy on improving the quality of the properties and the overall tenant experience, much to the delight of our tenants and landlords.
We welcome new landlords, especially those who want good service and need help to navigate the obstacles of letting and are looking for an experienced team of friendly people.
Blue i Properties was started in 2006 to provide a quality-based management service for local professionals and student lets. In 2013 we, William and Maryvonne Barron purchased the company and are expanding into more Professional, Private and Graduate lets.
We have student and commercial property in Derby ourselves and have over 50 years’ experience between us of buying, refurbishing and letting property in the UK, and surprisingly even in Brazil.
Our Property Portfolio
We currently manage almost 150 let properties across Derby from our offices in Ashbourne Road, with free parking behind us.
About 60% of these are student properties located around the university campuses of Kedleston, Markeaton, Lonsdale (Sustainability) and Britannia Mill.
The business has grown organically through reputation and we are now widely regarded as the “go to” accommodation providers in the Derby for the aspiring professionals, families and students who are looking for a good quality property and want to be taken care of.
Caring is part of our DNA whether it be for landlords who are having challenges with refurbishments, tenants recovering from Coronavirus, or properties which need updating and some TLC.

Meet The Team
We are a small team of five friendly, family orientated people and so you know exactly who you are dealing with when you call or pop into our offices, although with Covid, social distancing does make the office less friendly than it used to be.
Everybody is an individual with likes, dislikes and personal preferences. You will definitely not be a number with us, unlike other agencies. The result is that we get to know you quickly as a landlord or a tenant, as the Blue i personal service is the underlying foundation to what we are.
Debbie arrived in September 2018 to help with the administration of the letting paperwork having been involved in running a large camp site.
Her passion is helping people sort out the accommodation paperwork, chasing up signatures and answering our telephones. After work passion is totally focused on amateur dramatics.
Diane is our longest serving member of the team having joined us in June 2012 following maternity leave from a local agent, having worked for many years in professional letting. Her main role is looking after the daily challenges that appear, interspersed with viewings, property inspections turning her hand to inventories and check outs when needed. Her photographic memory of each of our properties is invaluable.
Lisa runs the accounts department and has many years dealing with all of the intricacies of landlords and tenants.
Lisa has this amazing memory for figures and has this instant recall for rent paid and names of tenants and keeps a finger on the pulse with a ready smile and offers of cups of tea and coffee.
Maryvonne is one of the director / owners of the company and can be seen on a daily basis sorting out the repairs side of the business, as well as dealing with incoming calls with her delightful Brazilian/French accent.
When not chatting to our lovely contractors or placing orders, she carries out viewings.
William the other director gets involved with everything – repairs, refurbishments, viewings, new houses and helping landlords. With a letting property background going back 35 years, he has also renovated and refurbished many houses and can often be seen delving into his extensive tool-box in the back of his car looking for his orange Black & Decker drill.
